August 31, 2010 (Louisville, KY) Carlisle….Next Stop for the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series

The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series (BOB Series) is headed to the Nicholas County Fairgrounds in Carlisle, Kentucky this Saturday night.  This pull is the make up pull due to the rain out in Carlisle earlier in August.  “We want to invite all the fans and pullers to come out and support this event.  The rain out was on the last night of our fair, and we had so many phone calls of people wanting us to reschedule, so that’s what we did.”, said event promoter Jerry Ross.  “It looks like Mother Nature is going to be our friend this time around.” Commented Ross.

The pull in Carlisle will be this Saturday, September 4, at 7pm EST.  Classes to run include the 10,000 Hot Farm Tractors, Work Stock Diesel Trucks, Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, Pro Street Diesel Trucks(2.6), and the Pro Farm Tractors.

The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series (BOB Series) is proud to announce that legendary puller Keith Race(Red Rattler) is the first puller in the BOB Series to win an event using a U.S. Lube product.  On August 7, 2010, in Sturgis, Kentucky, Race out pulled 14 tractors in the Pro Farm class, winning the event.  Race was using the U.S. Lube Oil Enhancer in his tractor.  “I can tell a difference in the performance of my tractor.  It responds more quickly, meaning it is getting better lubrication.” Commented Race.

August 3, 2010 (Louisville, KY) West Bound and Down! Sturgis, Kentucky Next Stop for the Battle of the Bluegrass

The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series(BOB Series) heads to Western Kentucky this Saturday at the Union County Fairgrounds in Sturgis, Kentucky.  “Sturgis has one of the nicest fairgrounds in the state and we look forward to great show.”, said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell.  “There are a lot of fans in West Kentucky that have to travel quite a ways to see a BOB Series event, so this weekend we are bringing the BOB pullers to them.”, commented McConnell.

Sturgis, Kentucky is home to one of the largest fairgrounds in Western Kentucky.  Many pullers and fans have heard of Sturgis, as it has an indoor building that runs non-sanctioned pulls in the off season.  This pull will take place outdoors, and the fairgrounds has a great outdoor pulling track.  “We want to personally invite all the BOB Series pullers and fans to Sturgis.  We look forward to see how our local pullers will compete against the BOB teams.”, said Shane Robinson, with the Union County Fair.

The pull will take place this Saturday, August 7, at 7pm CST.  Classes to run include the Work Stock Diesel Trucks, Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, Pro Street Diesel Trucks(2.6), Outlaw Super Farm Tractors, and the Pro Farm Tractors.

July 27, 2010 (Louisville, KY) Four Pulls in Three Days This Week For the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series

The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series(BOB Series) continues its journey through the hot days of July with four events this week in three days. “Fans have seen a lot of good pulling this year, with records being set and fans coming out and enduring the heat.”, said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell. “Every class the BOB Series has will be pulling somewhere this week in the Bluegrass State.”, commented McConnell.

This weeks events kick off Thursday July 29 at the Mercer County Fairgrounds in Harrordsburg, Kentucky. The event will start at 7pm and will feature the 10,000 Hot Farm Tractors, Economy Hot Rod Tractors, Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, and the ever popular Pro Farm Tractors.

Next up, the BOB Series returns to the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. The pull will take place on Friday, July 30 at 7pm. Classes to run include the Work Stock Diesel Trucks, the Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, the Pro Street Diesel Trucks, and the Pro Farm Tractors.

Then on Saturday, July 31, the BOB Series will have two pulls, with different classes at each event. The pull in Paris will start at 7pm and feature the Work Stock Diesel Trucks, Pro Farm Tractors, Pro Street Diesel Trucks, and the Outlaw Super Farm Tractors.

Also on Saturday, July 31 is Temple Hill, Kentucky. The pull in Temple Hill will start at 7pm CST and will feature the Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, Super-Modified 2WD Trucks, 10,000 Hot Farm Tractors and the Pro Stock 4WD Trucks.

July 21, 2010 Tollesboro, Kentucky Next Stop for the Battle of the Bluegrass

After four days of pulling in a row last week, the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series is headed to Tollesboro, KY this Saturday night on July 24.  “We really enjoyed being at the new facility in Tollesboro this spring and look forward to a great event this week.” Commented BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell.  “The layout of the fairgrounds is perfect for pulling and the track takes a lot of power to win.” Said McConnell.

The pull in Tollesboro takes place this Saturday and features several classes.  The pull will start at 7pm and we will be running Work Stock Diesel Trucks, Pro Farm Tractors, Pro Street Diesel Trucks, Outlaw Super Farm Tractors and Outlaw Diesel Trucks.

Tollesboro is the hometown pull of two Battle of the Bluegrass pullers.  Kenton Meadows pulls a great looking Dodge in the Pro Street Diesel class.  He had major drive train problems at Independence this past weekend and is trying to get the truck back together.  Matthew Meadows pulls in the Outlaw Super Farm and is the highest ranking Limited Pro Stock Tractor in the class.  He has been tuning the “Relentless” International and made a really strong pass this past weekend.  “More Limited Pros are being built for the Outlaw Super Farm, and Meadows is showing how competitive a Limited Pro can compete against the Super Farms.  Look for this tractor to make it to the winners circle some time in 2010.”, said Tom McConnell.

The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series now has photos for sell.  The BOB Series has used Giddy Go Photos to cover their events this year, and owner Diane Regis is now making them available to all the pullers.  “This lady had never been to a pull before, but you would not know that based on her photos.  She has shot some of the best pulling photos I have ever seen.” Commented BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell.

Costs of photos are very affordable.  A 4×6 is only $5.  An 8×10 is $10.  Special deals can be arranged if you buy multiples.  Prices do not include taxes.

July 12, 2010 (Louisville, KY) Four Events This Week for the Battle of the Bluegrass

The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series(BOB Series) is gearing up for its busiest week of the year, with four events scheduled this week.  “The BOB Series has had a great year, and this week could really shake up the points battles with so many events.” Said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell.  “This week could change the points standings as the pullers have really got to have their act together to get through this week.” Commented McConnell.

The first event this week will take place at the Harrison County Fair in Cynthiana, KY.  The pull will take place Wednesday, July 14 at 7pm.  Classes to run include Work Stock Diesel Trucks, Pro Farm Tractors, Pro Street Diesel Trucks, and the Light Limited Super Stock Tractors.

Next up, the BOB Series will head across to the river to the Scott County Fairgrounds in Scottsburg, IN.  The pull will take place on Thursday, July 15 at 7pm, and classes to run include the Work Stock Diesel Trucks, 10,000 Hot Farm Tractors(Kentucky Rules), Pro Street Diesel Trucks, and the Outlaw Super Farm Tractors.

The week will close out with two days of pulling action at the Kenton County Fair in Independence, KY.  The pull on Friday, July 16 will feature the 10,000 Hot Farm Tractor, Work Stock Diesel Trucks, Pro Farm Tractors, Outlaw Super Farm Tractors and Pro Stock 4WD Trucks.  On Saturday, July 17, classes to run include the Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, Pro Street Diesel Trucks, 10,000 Hot Farm Tractors, Outlaw Diesel Trucks, and the Pro Farm Tractors.  Pull will start both days at 7pm.

July 6, 2010 (Louisville, KY) Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series Too Debut 2WD Diesel Trucks in Charlestown

The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series(BOB Series) is headed to Charlestown, Indiana this week on Saturday, July 10.  Besides fans seeing a regular BOB Series event, fans will see the first ever Super Modified 2WD Diesel Truck, making exhibition runs, as well as competing in competition against BOB Series regulars in the SM2WD class.

Dale Strubberg, from Washington, MO. will be on hand with his wheel standing 2WD Diesel Truck.  The truck is a twin turbo charged Cummins, sporting a late model Dodge fiberglass funny truck body, making over 1500 horsepower.  “This truck is a look at the future of Diesel Truck pulling.  We look for several of these vehicles to be built over the next few years, and look forward to a great show from this truck.”, said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell.  “We will also have BOB Series regular Lynn Chapman making some exhibition runs and he will be pulling in the Pro Street Diesel Truck class as well.” Commented McConnell.

The pull in Charlestown, Indiana will start at 7pm EST this coming Saturday, July 10, 2010.  The pull will take place at the Clark County Fairgrounds, located on Highway 62.  Classes to run include the 12,000 Open Farm Stock Tractors, Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, Pro Street Diesel Trucks(2.6), Super Modified 2WD Trucks, and the Outlaw Super Farm Tractors.

June 21, 2010 (Louisville, KY) Three Days of Pulling Action this week for the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series

The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series(BOB Series) has three events this week, featuring most classes that the BOB Series offers to fans and pullers alike. “The points battles are starting to make a difference and the pullers have really got to have their act together to get through the week.” Said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell.

The first pull this week will take place this week at the Garrard County Fair in Lancaster, KY. Lancaster is known for its power track, as the red clay is a test for good drivers and drive trains. Wednesday night, June 23 will be the first of two days of action in Lancaster. June 23 will feature the 10,000 Hot Farm Tractors, the Work Stock Diesel Trucks, and the Light Limited Super Stock Tractors. Thursday night, June 24, will feature the Pro Street Diesel Trucks(2.6), the Pro Farm Tractors, and the Outlaw Diesel Trucks(2.8/3.0). Pulls will start both days at 8pm EST.

Saturday night, June 26, will feature eight classes in action at the Woodford County Fairgrounds in Versailles, KY. This event is a reschedule from the rainout that took place on June 11. Pull will start at 6pm EST and will feature the 10,000 Hot Farm Tractors, Work Stock Diesel Trucks, Super Stock 2WD Trucks, Pro Farm Tractors, Pro Street Diesel Trucks(2.6), Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, Super-Modified 2WD Trucks and the Outlaw Diesel Trucks(2.8/3.0). A major announcement will be made at this pull regarding sponsorship of the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series. “We have a new sponsor and we will tell everyone what is going on in Versailles.” Said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell.

June 14, 2010 Louisville, KY) Battle of the Bluegrass Has First Protest at Matt Pike Memorial Pull

The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series(BOB Series) had its first protest take place at the Matt Pike Memorial Pull in Brandenburg, KY this past weekend.  “Protests are a part of pulling and the BOB Series handled the situation as professionally as could be expected.”, said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell.

The protest took place in the Pro Farm Tractors.  A field of 13 tractors took to the sled at Brandenburg and the last tractor of the class was the lone John Deere of Royce McGowan.  Royce took the lead by barely beating current BOB Series Points Leader Barry Elliott.  Before Royce could be towed to the winners circle, a protest request was handed to a BOB Official with a $1,000 cash.  The protest was against the unofficial class winner, Royce McGowan.  When Royce was interviewed before the record crowd, Royce told the fans that “ …if you go out and beat these Red Boys a few times, they can’t take it!  I will tear my tractor down and take their protest money.”, commented Royce.
