4 Wide Racing May Leave the Fans Shel-Shocked
History will be made this weekend in North Carolina when the National Hot Rod Association brings the Four Wide Nationals to the Charlotte Dragway “the Bellagio of Dragstrips”, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. After last September’s exhibition fans of racing have been a buzz of what this action packed weekend will bring to the motorsports world. What began as a vision of Speedway Motorsport Incorporated CEO Bruton Smith will become the biggest of realities when rounds of four wide racing begin.
The Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League will be represented at this first time event when Stan Shelton reveals the newly upgraded Shel-Shocked Hemi powered E-3 Sparkplug Modified. The noise that will be created from four nitro cars powering down the strip side by side, will likely mimic the sound that roars from the four hemi engines Stan Shelton sits behind. The fourth motor is an addition to an already fierce arsenal that saw Shelton mixing it up with the best of Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League in his debut season in the E-3 Sparkplug Modified Class.
The Lucas Oil family will be paying close attention to the unique racing event as Morgan Lucas Racing will be in pursuit of the inaugural Four Wide Nationals, when Morgan brings the Geico Power Sports entry to the starting line and Shawn Langdon fires the Lucas Oil Products/ Team Lucas sponsored Top Fuel Dragster. Hector Arana defending NHRA Champion will also get his first taste in four wide racing when the Lucas Oil Buell-V-twin arrives at the Charlotte Dragway. The full family of Lucas Oil racers will be wide open in pursuit of the first ever Four Wide Nationals Crown.
Shel-Shocked will be the only vehicle on display in the manufacturer’s midway of the historic event. Shelton will be on hand to inform the motorheads of the NHRA about the General Tire Carolina Super Pull held a short drive from Charlotte, at the Worlds Fastest ½ mile Tri-Oval Concord Speedway the weekend of June 11-12. The weekend marks the only time the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Champions Tour will make the voyage to North Carolina during 2010 season. Fans of pulling can’t go wrong by making plans to attend this incredible event that will feature the high flying Rockstar Energy Drink Super Modified Two Wheel Drive Trucks, earth shaking E-3 Sparkplugs Modified Tractors and ground pounding Unlimited Super Stock Tractors.
Fans of Lucas Oil Products can visit Joe Phillips at the event to learn more about the product lines Lucas Oil Products offers and see first hand the effectiveness of Slick Mist and other incredible polishes.

NTPA Tech Services News
Question:
Richwine,
Why the heck did you guys create a new region 6 for?
Are you getting so many pulls that you see the need to expand???
Come on…….. a new region ???
Answer:
As a matter of fact NTPA picked up 3-4 new regional events in the last few days in that area thanks to Eddie Kerr and the guys in the Mid-South group.
The new Region 6 includes but, not limited to KY, TN, AL, GA, FL and MS.
This means they will have their own regional points and also earn points towards the Enderle Pull Off if enough classes are sanctioned in that region.
I think it’s a pretty good deal, and I think they should be congradulated myself.

Question:
If I attend Tech School, can I be a clutch inspector?
Answer;
No, The clutch inspector program is not set up that way. There is approx 1 inspector for every 25 NTPA members in any given state. Just because you might attend and pass the test doesn’t mean you’ll be NTPA licensed for tech or anything else. You have to be affiliated with NTPA either thru a state affiliate or by working directly for NTPA.

March 16, 2010 (Louisville, KY) Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series Gets Ready for 2010 Season
The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series(BOB Series) is gearing up to start the 2010 Season. The BOB Series will host its first pull at the Lewis County Fairgrounds in Tollesboro, Kentucky on April 24, and will then head to Lawrenceburg, Kentucky and then on the Georgetown. “Our first events are looking to be very large events, with lots of pullers and fans planning on attending.”, said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell. “We had a great 2009 and look forward to an even better season in 2010.”, commented McConnell.
The first event will take place in Tollesboro, Kentucky on April 24. Classes to run include Pro Street Diesel Trucks, Outlaw Diesel Trucks, Light Limited Super Stock Tractor, Pro Farm Tractor and Outlaw Super Farm Tractor. The BOB Series attempted to host two events in Tollesboro in 2009, but both were rained out. Three events are scheduled for Tollesboro in 2010.
Next, the BOB Series will head to the Anderson County Park in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. The event will take place on April 30 and May 1. Classes to run include the Super Modified 2WD Trucks, Pro Street Diesel Trucks, Outlaw Diesel Trucks, Work Stock Diesel Trucks, 10,000 Hot Farm Tractors, Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, Pro Farm Tractors, Economy Hot Rod Tractors and Super Stock 2WD Trucks. “Lawrenceburg was our largest event last year, with over 100 vehicles pulling, and we look forward to a big crowd and a great puller turnout.”, said Tom McConnell.
Next will be the two day event in Georgetown, Kentucky at the Scott County Fairgrounds. The pull will take place on May 7-8. This event will feature the Super-Modified 2WD Trucks, the Super Modified 4WD Trucks, Pro Street Diesel Trucks, Work Stock Diesel Trucks, Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, and Pro Farm Tractors. “This is a great event, with all the money raised going to the FFA. Georgetown also has one of the best power tracks in the state, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.” Commented McConnell.
The next event will take place at one of Tennessee most popular pulling facilities, the fairgrounds in Lafayette, TN. This event will feature a lot of pulling classes, including the first hook of the year for the Pro Stock 4WD Trucks. Other classes to run include the Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, the Pro Farm Tractors, Super Stock 2WD Trucks, Work Stock Diesel Trucks, Pro Street Diesel Trucks and the Outlaw Diesel Trucks. “We are thrilled to be pulling in Lafayette.
