Question:

Mr. Richwine,

If I attend one of your tech schools and pass the test, does that make me a NTPA official? I understand there’e a fee for the school and the license but, will I automatically be qualified as a NTPA Official?  What does it take to be a Clutch inspector?

Answer:

No you won’t automatically be licensed.

While anyone can attend the school and take the test, (if they pay the testing fee) passing the test does not make you a licensed NTPA official. In order to be a NTPA licensed official you must first pass the test. Then you must be endorced by a NTPA state affiliate or work directly for NTPA before being allowed to apply for a license.

Clutch inspectors are chosen by their qualifications and location. There is one inspector for each 25 NTPA members in any given state.
